Babies Don't Keep

An Etsy customer asked me to design a pattern for this poem, and I offered it to the general public after I completed hers - selling it two more times in quick succession!  I also discovered with this project that the 32 count linen I buy isn't exact in it's thread count - making the finished project have different dimensions depending on what direction I use the fabric.

I also completed one on 28 count evenweave cotton fabric - it was nice seeing how the design looked when the count was the same size in both directions.

I now offer the pattern in my shop.

Snoopy Car Sampler

I wanted to do another Snoopy sampler for my second son, since I was reusing the same nursery decor, but I was definitely not going to do the huge pattern I did the first time!  Once again, I couldn't find a baby sampler I liked, so I found this cute generic pattern online and just added the personalization myself.

A Virtuous Woman

I finished this design that was in my WIP stash for awhile, and it's now in my Etsy shop.  I love the bright, cheerful colors!

Springtime Nest

I got this kit specifically to make to sell on Etsy - so pretty, and I love the musical mat that came with it.

O Holy Night Advent Calendar

I fell in love with this advent calendar, so when my oldest son started getting big enough to enjoy counting down the days till Christmas, I made it.  It always makes me smile!

Garden Serenade

I received this kit from my mom for my birthday.  It was a fun project - only using beads!  It's currently for sale in my Etsy shop.

The Bride

I absolutely loved this Lavender & Lace pattern - I'm a sucker for pretty dresses, especially bridal gowns.  I ended up listing it in my Etsy shop and someone bought it for a wedding present!

To Love and Cherish

I made this beautiful wedding sampler for my little sister.  Her wedding colors were pink and green and her middle name is Rose, so this design was perfect.  And it was fun including an actual photo on top of the stitching.

Baa Baa Black Sheep

This was a little project, but since it was for my mom, it gets a spot in my gallery, too.  She spins her own yarn, so loved these little designs and asked me to stitch them for her.  Very quick and fun to stitch - especially the french knot wool on the sheep!

The Lord's Prayer

Beautiful pattern!  I made this twice to sell in my shop - one of them is still available.  Always a joy to see each little flower and bee come to life!

Gloria red rose

I found this pattern at my local cross stitch store and HAD to have it, since I love roses!  After it sat half finished in my stash for awhile, it became a candidate for putting in my Etsy shop.  Such a joy to stitch!

The Lord is my Shepherd

Another WIP that I finished up to sell in my shop.  One of my friends actually found it on there and bought it - she was looking for some scripture to decorate her apartment and this fit the bill!

Needleart Silhouette

Around this time, I was gearing up to open my Etsy shop - mainly as an avenue to motivate me to finish some of the WIPs in my stash.  This was the first one that I got out to finish - very pretty!

Rooster Toile

I  made this for one of my sister-in-laws, who loves french country decorations.

Rock of Ages

I made this for my dad, who loves hymns and the back woods country in Oregon.

Snoopy Birth Announcement

This is the sampler I made for my first son.  It was a computer-generated pattern I found online and took a long time, but it was the only Snoopy pattern I could find that I liked (his nursery theme) and it was my first, so I still had time!

God's Babies Samplers

I made these for my best friend's kids.  The first one was from a kit.  The second one used my own threads and the same pattern from the kit.  The third one we reworked the color scheme to make it fit more with a December birthday.

Seaside Kingdom

I bought the Mirabilia pattern for this one when I found out it was being discontinued. I had always thought it was fun and would be good in a kid's room. When I found out we were expecting our first baby, I started stitching it.

Floral Harmony

I found this kit on clearance at my craft store, and while I usually avoid stamped cross stitch, I just loved this design for my parents.  My dad plays the viola and my mom plays the cello, and in general just love music.

Spring Queen

The second Mirabilia queen completed. Very lovely and fresh!

Mother's Bliss

One of my absolute favorite Mirabilia designs! So elegant and simple.

Autumn Queen

This is the first Mirabilia queen that I completed. It wasn't my favorite of the season queens, but it was the first one I had the pattern for. Once I started stitching her, I really loved it, though - so much prettier than I thought it would be from the little cover picture I had!

Flowers & Lace

I made this for my best friend, who loves white.  I like all the lacy stitches that frame the pretty flowers.  I finished it into a pillow, backed and piped with cream silk shantung fabric.

Grapevine Wreath

I made this for my mother-in-law, who loves pansies.

Tuscan View

I made this for my friend as a going away present when she was moving back home to Georgia.  She had been thoroughly impressed with some of the cross stitching she had seen of mine.  Her entire awareness of the craft was old-school traditional samplers, so she was amazed that you could also stitch beautiful pictures.  I chose this one since it was large and pretty while still being rather quick to stitch (most of the background is done in half stitches), since I only had a short time to finish it.  She loved it and hangs it proudly in her house in Georgia.  :)

Ship

I made this for my husband so he would have something of mine to hang on his side of the room.  He likes these ships and used to have a model of one that he'd made - until our cat knocked it down and played with it while we were on vacation one year.  :P

And The Two

This is a lovely wedding sampler I have for sale on my Etsy shop.  It was fun to stitch - so many beautiful flowers, and the words are in such an elegant font!

Our Wedding Sampler

I found this wedding sampler kit that matched our wedding colors and completed it around our first anniversary.  I still love it!

Lamp Unto My Feet

I stitched this for my younger sister.  It's the first Paula Vaughan design I completed.

Midsummer Night's Fairy

This is the first Mirabilia pattern I completed, and it cemented my LOVE of this designer!

Bird Wedding Sampler

I stitched this for some friends who were married while I was in college.  I wasn't close to them, but was good friends with the brides' younger sister.  However, I knew they loved birds, so when I saw this kit at the store, I just HAD to make it for them!

My Sister

I stitched this for my older sister - at the time she really liked sunflowers, so it was perfect.

Curious Kitty

My sister got me this kit for Christmas because she thought I would be able to stitch the kitty.  She was sad to find out when I opened it and started looking at it, that it was a printed cat with only the floral border to be stitched.  However, it is still very cute and makes me think of her every time I see it!

Victorian Lady

I fell in love with this pattern, and really like how it turned out - especially the buttons down her back.  :)

Lighthouse

I made this for my mom - she loves lighthouses - and it was fun working with the charms, too.  Lots of fun stitches and colors!

Footprints in the Sand

I've completed this pattern three times now, and have sold each on Etsy.  It's always a joy and I will probably stitch it again someday on 18 count fabric.

Life's A Beach

This is one of the first counted cross-stitch designs I completed. I'm guessing on the completed date, because it was so long ago I really can't remember. But, it's very fun! I had it hanging just like this (not framed) in my dorm room in college, and I sold it as a tote bag in my Etsy shop!
